Iconic Ayr hotel sold

Drivers Jonas Deloitte, acting on behalf of a fund managed by Matrix Property Fund Management, has sold the iconic Station Hotel in Ayr, Scotland to a private overseas investor.

The Grade II listed hotel is a prominent Victorian building located at the heart of Ayr town centre, adjacent to the railway station. The hotel was completed around 1885 and extends to approximately 44,185 square foot.

David Frame of Drivers Jonas Deloitte said, "Our client, Matrix, is delighted to have sold the Station Hotel. With so many new modern hotels being built around us it is great to see a traditional hotel attracting interest from investors from the UK and abroad.

"With its proximity to Prestwick International Airport, Ayr Racecourse, Burns attractions and the many great golf courses Ayrshire has to offer, the hotel is in an excellent location.

"Importantly, the transaction means that this iconic property will continue to function as a hotel, preserving its place in the history of Ayr."

The price was undisclosed.
