British Land appoints new head of retail

Property company British Land has promoted Charles Maudsley to the position of head of the group’s retail business.

Maudsley joined from LaSalle Investment Management last month with the title of executive director for business expansion. He will assume responsibility for the group's portfolio of retail parks and malls.

Ben Grose, who has been with British Land since 2005, has been given the job of Head of Retail Asset Management and will report to Maudsley.

The reshuffle comes about after last year's resignation of retail head Andrew Jones with two other members of its retail operations to pursue new ventures.
Other positions on the senior management team remain unchanged.
