Ethel Austin cuts 1,000 more jobs
More than 1,000 jobs will go when discount clothing retailer Ethel Austin closes 114 stores.
Administrators from MCR, which is already closing 129 stores, said the second wave of closures would take effect by the end of February. A total of 1,048 jobs, both at Austin and its sister company, will go, adding to the 470 jobs axed two weeks ago.
MCR said the remaining 162 stores will continue to operate as usual while it tries to find a purchaser for the rest of the business.
