Legoland for the Trafford Centre

Merlin Entertainments is planning to open the first UK Legoland Discovery Centre at the Trafford Centre in Greater Manchester.

It wants to have the 38,000 sq ft attraction open by Easter 2010.

The £7.5m centre will be Merlin’s first new attraction to open in the UK since the Edinburgh Dungeon in 2001. It will be located in the Barton Square area of the Trafford Centre.

Legoland Discovery Centres were launched in Berlin in 2007. There are two other centre globally – Duisberg in Germany and Chicago in the USA.

Merlin said it is looking for more sites.
