Primark opens in Blackburn

Primark has opened a store in Blackburn today as part of The Mall's £66million extension.

The centre has increased in size by one third to 600,000 square foot, adding 20 new units.

The 39,600 square foot Primark is the first of several new units set to open in the new extension, which has been in development for the last two years.

A new Costa Coffee and a relocated, larger WH Smith also opened for the first time today.

Bank, JD Sports, Next, New Look, Peacocks, Deichmann and H&M are all expected to open in the coming months.

An extensive refurbishment to the centre's existing malls has also been completed, with new floor and ceiling finishes throughout.

Managed by Capital & Regional and Aviva Investors, The Mall Fund owns 17 shopping centres across the UK.
