New £27m Tesco distribution centre to be built

Vinci Construction UK has won a £27million contract to design and build a 900,000 square foot distribution centre for Tesco at Whitely in South Reading.
The development will be built at a former Heineken brewery site and will be carried out by Vinci’s retail and interiors division.
It will include a state of the art vehicle maintenance unit, a vehicle wash and refuelling facility and a gate house.
The building works will be completed to BREEAM standards and will emit 34 per cent less CO2 than the levels imposed by the 2010 building regulations.
